Traditional Acupuncture is a long-established system of Chinese Medicine, capable of treating the underlying patterns of disharmony that result in many common conditions, illnesses and diseases.

As well as treating a wide range of specific illnesses, Acupuncture can help to restore balance when you are simply feeling “off colour”, depleted or “out of balance”, without necessarily showing any particular symptoms.

Acupuncture supports the immune system in general, so it can also be helpful to support those undergoing conventional treatments for cancer and help to alleviate some of the side effects of radio-therapy or chemo-therapy.

Traditional Acupuncture always aims to go beyond merely treating symptoms - unless the underlying causes of an illness are addressed, then symptoms are likely to persist, or return. These causes are found at many levels; perhaps an old injury, or an illness, from which you never fully recovered created a chronic condition; causes may also be due to shock, trauma or prolonged physical or mental stress; emotional causes can arise from periods of unhappiness, depression, grief, anger or chronic fear that eventually affects the health of the body.

As well as specific symptoms, patients often describe a sense of having lost the connection with their “vital spark”. Acupuncture can help you to regain that connection, restoring your physical vitality and spiritual well-being.

I have practised Acupuncture for 23 years, treating a wide range of conditions. I am trained in the two main styles - 5 Elements and 8 Principles (or TCM), enabling an integrated approach that addresses physical symptoms and patterns of illness, as well as balancing the emotional, mental and spiritual levels. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the professional body that represents the Acupuncture profession, maintaining standards of education, ethics, discipline and Codes of Practice to ensure the health and safety of the public at all times.
